25th June 2019 – NSSA Overall Series Winner Senior Boys

Thank you to National Schools Snowsports Association Organisers and volunteers for an amazing schools race series. Also thank you to Ski Club of Great Britain and Halsbury Travel for their support of the series

My Senior Boys 1st Overall Series Trophy arrived and has given me a great boost during my rehabilitation.

Despite missing the final race as in the operating theatre at the time of the race, my performances throughout the series placed me Joint 1st with U18 Mikey D and U16 Jacob B – well done!

Thank you to the supportive staff at Akeley Wood School and ISA Sport

13th June 2019 – 10 Days Post Knee Operation

Massive thank you to Mr McElroy and the staff at The BMI Chilterns Hospital as X-Rays from today show knee operation to shave bone spur growth off my previously repaired patella look really positive. Great news that the cartilage is in really good condition and that the decision to operate was done at the best time.

Can start more bodyweight load bearing, and gentle short spin sessions.

Long road on the rehabilitation, but I have been here before and can do it again !

Thank you to all the staff at Akeley Wood School for sorting access with crutches, and massive thanks to Harrison and Ben for being my buddies and carrying all my bags.

(Pin from 2016 operation too deep and hidden in the growing bone to be removed – shame it would have been a good prize)

9th June 2019 – SMK Internal Race Series 2018/19 Prize Giving

Interesting to sit in on my first Annual General Meeting today – even I didn’t know everything that Ski MK Race Team had done over the last year and amazing goals for the next year.

After the AGM SMK held prize giving for the SMK Internal Race Series 2018/19. This years series comprised of 7 races – results can be found here

Congratulations to Matthew 2nd and Josh F 3rd, in the U16 category.

In the overall Male Gates Series I also managed a first place. (Laughing as didn’t realise my wake boarding shorts would be in the picture.

Thank you to SMK, all the volunteers, Trophy Too (for the trophies) and James at Drysure for the overall winners prizes.

Well done to my fellow SMK racers, Emily M (Stubbies Girl Overall Series Winner), Grant M (Stubbies Boy Overall Series Winner) and Emma T (Gates Female Overall Series Winner)

At the SMK AGM the Chair introduced a new Chair’s Award to recognise SMK Volunteers, and the inaugural Award was presented to Simon (who, amongst other things organises the coaches) and also to Mum, for her role as Membership Secretary – well done – as without the great volunteers and coaches, the Club wouldn’t operate.

29th April 2019 – ISA Indoor Ski Championships 2019

Reasonable 2nd run put me in 5th overall, and 1st Under 16 (and Under 16 ISA Champ).

Akeley Wood School A Team comprising Tom, Kayne, William and me, finished 2nd Male Team overall but 1st Place ISA School Male Team.

Great two runs from my Evo teammate Charlotte to win the U18 overall ,

Well done to everyone in the AWS B Team, with solid runs, and to my Ski MK Race Team, with medal winning performances from. Matthew, Kayne, Sam, Noah, Jacob and Toby.

Thanks to all the organisers and volunteers and Mr Tombs and staff at Akeley Wood School.

20th March 2019 – Knee Testing

36 months post knee surgery, back in testing to establish the long term position. Lots of tests with Gus.

All good news with differential between Left and Right minimising and becoming negligible on some tests.

Ultrasound scans showed growth plates so lots of growing still to come.

Thanks to Paul and Gus at Elite Physical Medicine

Back out with Team Evolution Racing for another block with confidence that the right knee is strong and equal to the left.

24th February 2019 – English Alpine Champs Bormio 2019

Quick summary of the week of the English Alpine Champs.

Had a great few days racing in Bormio. Thanks to organisers and helpers, including Mum as commentator.

SG Race 1 finished 12th in U16 (3rd Year of Birth), SG Race 2 (see video), GS finished 10th in U16 (3rd Year of Birth) and SL after a poor Run 1 made up a few places to finish 14th U16 (4th Year of Birth).

Well done to Team Evolution racers, some great racing and great fun !

Had a few good results and a crash, overall happy with the results and the skiing.

SG Race 2. WARNING CRASH!!!!!!! and the odd bit of coaches disappointment !
