18th February 2016 – English Alpine Champs @ Bormio

Not a great week of racing for me, but learnt lots and lots of areas to work on.

On Monday I took part in the U12/10 Giant Slalom on the Alpina piste – Run 1 was was not one of my best, on the backs of my skis and not pushing, so tried harder Run 2 and came out of the course.

So onwards to the Kombi on Thursday – but again whilst pushing for a good position, I came out of the course on both runs.

Lots to learn from, lots more to practice. Well done to Kayne (fellow SMK racer 5th on GS) Lucas fellow Evo racer (4th GS and 1st Kombi) Tilly (2nd GS and Kombi) with great runs from AlexO on both races and Kieran (get well soon!).

Still smiling though ! Thanks to Team Evolution Alex “Junior Coach of the Year” and Paul.

14th January 2016 – 1st Atomic-Ambition Championships – U12 Ambition Cup Pro-Slalom

Final day of a great Race Series – thanks to Atomic and Ambition, all the race officials and helpers. Also big thanks to Team Evolution !

Today is the Ambition Cup Pro-Slalom U12/10 competition. Drawn Bib 11, again! Dad is Chief Gate Judge again, and Mum is helping out at the finish, again !

Time to push on and progress up the podium places if I can. After the last two runs of yesterdays Pro-Slalom, feeling really up for today. Extra coaching from Reidy to consider during the three runs.

Day 4 was my best day, three consistent and solid runs, left me in 2nd place ! Over the moon with the field of strong GB skiers !

Well done to Jack (Ambition) 1st and Lucas (Evolution) 3rd.

13th January 2016 – 1st Atomic-Ambition Championships – U12 Ambition Championship Pro-Slalom

Day 3 of the 1st Atomic-Ambition Championships, with the Ambition Championship Pro-Slalom U12/10 competition. Drawn Bib 11, again! Dad is Chief Gate Judge again, and Mum is helping out at the finish !

Three runs on the pro-slalom course. Run 1 I took the course a little too straight and through the middle of the Pro-slalom gates!

Run 2, I hit gate 4-5 and it spun my round 180degrees but I continue and get a reasonable time. Knowing the course, Run 3 was to be a make or break run to get onto the podium.

Managed it !

Better couple of GS runs today and a great 3rd place podium finish.

Day 1 of racing at Leogang at the 1st Atomic-Ambition Championships, and taking part in the U12/10 Ambition Champs GS.

Early start on the hill, with two GS runs from Bib 7.

Not a great day, with a FND in Run 1 and only able to hit 6th place overall.

Well done to Lucas (Evolution) 1st, Jack (Ambition) 2nd and Kasper (Evolution) 3rd. Fellow SMK racer Kayne pipped me to 5th by 0.02seconds.

Onwards to Day 2 and the Ambition Cup GS race.

6th September 2015 – British Indoor Championships @ Chill Factore

After yesterday’s disappointment, I was trying to move up the podium steps at today’s British Indoor Champs. Run 1 on a technically difficult top section of the course had caught a few out but I was determined to get a flying start. Posted a fast time and finished in 2nd place after run 1.

Hoping to post a faster time, I entered the difficult offset gate wrong and had to correct and finished with a slower time. Unfortunately for me, my fellow SMK Racer Kayne’s 2nd run was faster than my 1st run and I was pushed into 3rd place for the second time this weekend.

Big thanks to the volunteers who help run the races, and Dad for helping Gate Judge both days.

5th September 2015 – Anglo Welsh Indoor Champs @ Chill Factore

At the Anglo Welsh Champs at Chill Factore today on Run 1 I was gunning for a great time, but nearly skied out. Had to concentrate for Run 2 and put down a reasonable time that gave me 3rd Place. Happy that I could adjust my mindset for Run 2 for a podium, but not happy with my Run 1 mistake. You get some great friends in this sport, Alex and me !
