Usually it’s Prep in the hour before training but it’s Easter holidays so chill time.
Last race today in the SMK winter internal race series. Coaches and volunteers managed to get the courses set and for 5 Slalom runs before the slope became too busy. Well done.
We also ran a Kombi course, with all ages on the same course – great way to see how my times match up with the older and younger racers.
Early start (5:00am) to travel up to Manchester this morning, and enjoyed having my gluten free cornflakes at 80mph ! whilst surrounded by my duvet ! Breakfast in Bed I called it.
The SnowSport England race today is the last SnowSport Indoor Race of the 2013 series.
SSE races for U10’s are around stubbies and the fastest of the two runs.
Run 1 I went for it and missed a gate on the tight section.
Run 2, after learning where I went wrong in Run 1 I approached the run in a more calculated way and nailed a winning time of 16.02 seconds, with Kayne running into 2nd Place with a Run 2 time of 16.80, and Lucas from Lions in 3rd with a time of 16.99 seconds.

Athletes can join coaches at 7.45am and picked up at 4pm. The day starts with the athletes joining our Skills Squad training session. This part of the day will be working on posture and standing strong on the skis throughout the turn. Later we will be working on foot speed and agility through a ‘Brush” course to test your skills.”
