Great result today at the ERSA Hemel Summer League Race sponsored by Team Evolution.
Run 1 saw fast run from SMK racer Kayne meant I had to have a super fast and super smooth run. I did ! Posting a 12.94 second run which placed me first. With deteriorating snow conditions, Run 2 was always going to be a slower run, but still hit a 13.50 seconds run.
So finished 1st in my first race my coaches let me “go for it” after my MCL injury in April. Its great to be back on the podium.
Thanks to Evolution for the start picture ! So fast it was blurry !
Big thanks to ERSA and all the helpers. Well done to fellow SMK racers on #smkpodium Kayne, Rebecca, Fin and Maxine.
The race was live streamed ! Plus commentary !
Looking forward to GBR Race 3 and SnowSport Scotland Races at Breahead.
Great weekend coming up for me:
Saturday 27th – BARSC Indoor Champs at Manchester – Run 1 start list here.
Sunday 28th – ERSA Finals Indoor Champs at Hemel – Run 1 start list here.
Monday 29th – BISS British Independent Schools Ski Racing Indoor Championships at Hemel – Run 1 start list here.
Will update with results over the weekend !
Back down to earth with a bump, through either compliancy or tiredness (after a week of three ski races and two school rugby matches) ? But not a great race meet for me!
ERSA Slalom, two runs with a combined time to count – Run 1 amazing fast run, but straddled a gate so DSQ, Run 2, with nothing to loose really went for a fast time – Face plant into the snow !
Well done to Alex from Norfolk (1st), Kayne (2nd) and Thomas (3rd) from Hemel.

Again, thanks to all who organised and the volunteers (thank goodness that Dad didn’t have to commentate today ! couldn’t stand listening to him all day !)
Great morning of racing again at Hemel and on my longer 125 Atomic Skis.
Posted a first run of 13.17 and a second run of 13.01 ! First Place, with both my runs taking the fastest two runs in the Under 10’s. Good times from Alex Ogden from Norwich (13.75 and 13.57) and Thomas Beglin from Hemel (14.50 and 14.51 I think).
Thanks to ERSA for the 1st Place Prizes of Forcefield Base Layer Shirts.
Also great Giant Slalom run, after the last few mediocre GS runs in the last few race meetings.
Finished 2nd in Under 10’s Giant Slalom but great to post a second run improving time (run 1 13.40 run 2 13.32). Well done to Alex who posted a fastest time of 13.17 on his second run. So very happy with both my Slalom and Giant Slalom today.
Ski MK Race Team, despite a small number of entrants, finished with some great results, so well done to Mia, Bethany, Dominic, Daniel, Heather and Robert (left quickly to watch the Murray final!) who all had podium places. Also Daniel got through to the Pro-Slalom Shootout Semi-Final but lost out to Paul Telling. Also great to see Francis (first ever race) and Lawrence, posting some great runs!
Looking forward to Sunday’s race, large U10’s Boys field, so here’s to a great day’s racing !
Slalom and Giant Slalom races !
Watch out for the results.
Good luck to all SMK Racers at Hemel, plus good luck to Kayne, Riley, Grace, Sarah at the British Indoor Series Race 3 at SnoZone Castleford on Sunday.
Finished Slalom with a good 2nd place with narrow miss of 0.41 seconds from 1st. On Giant Slalom fell on first run, but recorded a good second run and got a 2nd place again with a 0.13 second from Kayne who finished first.
Great SMK results today, Kayne and others.
Giant Slalom results, finished 44th in Male but 2nd in Under 10’s
