6th May 2015 – Beachborough Colts Cricket

Not been able to trial for Beachborough School Cricket teams, due to rehabilitation on the MCL, but finally got batting time in the nets on Tuesday and obviously did enough to be picked for the Colts B team !

So all ready for for my first match against my ski buddy Kaynes’ school today ! Guess what the British Spring Weather put paid to play, as match cancelled before we even left !

Hopefully more chance to practice and move up the batting order.

4th May 2015 – Rehabilitation – Return to the Slopes

Part of the rehabilitation process as back on skis for first time since my fall in Hintertux, some 4 weeks ago.  1:1 for one hour with Ben, included warm ups, very easy skiing, turns  ensuring knee follows ski tip.  Ben also video’d several of my runs and we analysed my lower leg, knee, thigh alignment.  Good news no pain either on the slope or afterwards and the video analysis shows very little/no dependancy on my left knee or compensation for my right knee.  Thanks Ben and thanks to SnoZoneMK for the slope access.

[Dad edit – I am sure I could make an iMovie of these funky Dance Moves below!]IMG_0851 IMG_0852 IMG_0853 IMG_0854

Great piece of sports video analysis software that allows angle, line, position analysis to be measured.  Green lines show I kept my legs/knees parallel so no dependancy / compensation.  All good news.  IMG_0856 IMG_0858 IMG_0867 IMG_0868 IMG_0869

Massive thanks to Ben and Paul @ Elite for getting me back so quickly.  Now the hard work continues !

Assault courses (I did take it easy with my knee) lead by RAF PT Instructor Greg (amazingly fit instructor), chance to take off, fly and land in a £15m Hercules Flight Simulator, and team building and development skills with Greg.  Day completed with a BBQ at the Officers Mess.
