Just waiting for the UPS lorry !
Good week of Ski Training last week, Monday Gravity Gates Session was punishing and lots of gates. Tuesday and Sunday good training sessions.
Really enjoyed the Aviva Premiership Final at Twickenham on Saturday, with Leicester Tigers beating the Northampton Saints. It was amazing to see the way the Saints targeted Toby Flood and Ben Youngs, with some crunching tackles taking Flood out of the game. Good job Tigers didn’t depend on Ford, Flood’s replacement, to get points from kicks !. Learnt one major thing from Saturday and the RFU decision to bang Dylan Hartley, no matter how upset you get never shout abuse at the Referee or other players. An 11 week ban means he missed out on a career moment of playing for the British Lions.

Sunday was school project completion day, and it looks amazing, then helping in the garden for pocket money !
So this week at School its Fun Activity Days, with cycling activities, ice skating and book making.
Another sport week as well, Monday going to Wembley to watch the Championship Play-off between Crystal Palace and Watford (not sure who to cheer on – went for Palace in the end, and overall they probably deserved the win!)

Tuesday night watching the MK Dons V Chelsea Under 15’s (ended 1:4 to CFC, but some good play from both sides) (gone from 80,000 at Twickenham, to 86,000 at Wembley to 1,221 at StadiumMK, back to another 80,000+ at Wembley for the England game)

Then back to Wembley on Wednesday to watch England v Ireland. Ireland played well and closed down England all the time, and we didnt use Walcott and the Ox as wide players enough. We will struggle against Brasil, and no I am not going to that match !

As I can’t make MK Ski Race Training, my Mum & Dad are coming free skiing with me for a couple of hours on Friday, just to get the felling of the snow again in readiness for Sunday !
Saturday we are on the Harry Potter Tour at the Warner Bros Studio !
Sunday is ERSA Ski Race at Milton Keynes, so fingers crossed ! And watch this space. (Wonder what Officials role Dad will get on Sunday ? – Update : Dad is Gate Judge 4 for the Slalom and Gate Judge 3 for the Dual Slalom)
This coming week was suppose to be a quiet week ! doesn’t look that way !
Update:
Really like this one:

Wilf at the SnoZone and of http://www.catchthatmoment.co.uk took some pictures at last Wednesday’s training session.
Met Ed Drake yesterday, he was a fore runner at the MK Club National and it was good to see him do something I did in the race, fall ! but his was after the finish timer but he did hit the netting, and .
Favourite line from my commentary yesterday “We have an Olympic skier in the netting!”
Next time need to grab a picture ! Thanks for supporting the MK Club National !

From Wikipedia
Edward “Ed” Drake (born 12/01/1986) is a British alpine skier. He represented Great Britain at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver where he took part in the Men’s downhill, Men’s Super-G, Men’s giant slalom and Men’s combined. Drake is a four-time British champion winning the giant slalom and combinein 2008 and 2009.
Last week was an exam week at school, so had to try and concentrate a little more ! We will see what the results bring.
Saturday was a good footballing day, as Great Horwood Under 9’s beat Willen Warriors 3:0 (away). Great result as they run us very hard last match (won just 2:1), an Saturday was no exception. But a great team performance by the 10 boys earned a great win.
So this week, last week before half term and hopefully an easier week at school?, brings:
Monday, The Grove School ski club, and straight into a Gravity Gates Night, so that will nearly be 3 hours on the slopes.
Tuesdays, is Ski MK Race training night.
Friday is a Cricket School fixture against Quainton School.
Saturday, going with Grandad, Mum and Dad to Twickenham to watch the Aviva Premiership Rugby Play-off Final, then Dad and Grandad off to Wembley to watch the Champions League Final ! He is very lucky.
Sunday is Ski MK Race training.
So another 7 hours on the slopes at SnoDome scheduled this week. Can’t wait.
(Thanks Mum and Dad in taking me to today’s race, and thanks to Dad for being Backup Finish Timer in the slalom races and then Starter Marshall in the GS ! He did look to have very cold fingers after two hours in the ‘big fridge’ operating the finish computer!)
MK Club National race today, a two race meeting, with Race 1 being a two run slalom, with the combined times going against podium places, and a Giant slalom race consisting of two runs.
On the slalom race, guess what?, I fell again on my first run, but still recorded a time of 23.99 seconds (faster than some others U12’s), but then on my second I nailed it and put down a 18.09 second run, which is what I know I am capable of.
So with a combined time of 42.08 seconds left me in 4th. Very disappointing, but shows I need to ensure consistency in both runs, even on those races scored on fastest run or combined runs.
What was good was the second run of 18.09 which was the fastest single run time in the Boys Under 10’s by over 1 second, and 4th best time in the Under 12’s.
So have to take some positive thoughts out of today in that I am getting faster and stronger, just need to have consistency. Something to work on over the next two weeks.
On the GS race, two runs with a fastest of 17.34 gave me 46th male, or 3rd in the Under 10’s. All GS scores are calculated for a Series result, so need to see how many I attend over the season.
Two weeks until the next race, an ERSA race again at MK, so two weeks of concentrated training, so can improved on consistency and times.
Start List and Bib numbers published for this Sunday’s race.

Looking forward to it, some good Under 10’s competitors racing, so need to concentrate and publish some good run times !
Watch out for the result !
Last Saturday’s Gravity Boot Camp #1 was hard work, with Ski Skills Session, Freestyle Skiing and then a gruelling land training session. Looking forward to Boot Camp #2 and #3 over the next two months.
Sunday was a long day, 04:15 alarm call, on the road before 05:00 and at Chill Factore just after 07:00 in readiness for Race 3 of the GBR Indoor Race Series (missed Race 2 on the Saturday as wanted to to the Gravity Boot Camp). I was a little nervous, and Run 1 I fell around Gate 4, when I crossed my skis at the rear and it popped a ski off. Did ski the rest of the run on one ski !
Run 2 was a cautious run, with a Under 10 time of 18.28 seconds, which placed me First in Place in Under 10’s (by over two seconds) and a good 13th in U12 & 10. Need to learn to get a steady, error free first run so I can push it on run 2. Now I have skied at Chill Factore, hopefully the nerves will by better when we return in July for Race 5 and 6 of the GBR Indoor Race Series.
Monday brings School Photos (must keep looking smart all day ! #difficult) and then School SkiClub at the SnoZone. Tuesday night brings Ski MK Race Team Training.
Saturday is one of the last Football matches of the season, for Great Horwood FC Under 9’s, who had a good draw last Saturday with Leighton Buzzard.
Sunday brings yet another morning of Ski Racing, with the Ski MK Club National, at the SnoZone. Home slope, so hopefully will be another successful two runs ? Kayne racing on Sunday, so have some good close home competition.
